CLASSES
Pre-School
Children aged 3 to 6 years are enrolled at the Pre-School, depending on their ability. The pre –school component is divided into three classes:

Nursery 3
The nursery classes help to create a solid foundation for children in the primary. The curriculum, at this level is designed to prepare the child psychologically, mentally and physically. Apart from the comfort and enjoyment that the pre-school provides, children are challenged to work hard and succeed.
The curriculum covers activities in English Language (reading, writing and listening skills) mathematical skills, science, social Studies,( with emphasis on the environment) Moral and Religious Education, French, Music (singing, cerography), ICT, marshal art , Theater art and physical education are also part of the curriculum

Pre-school Section:
Monday to Thursday 8:20am to 1:30pm
Fridays: 8:20am to 12 noon
Extra-Curricular Activities
African Children School believes in exposing children to know what is happening outside the classroom. For this reason regular expeditions, excursion, group activities and sports are carried out once a term to enhance children’s knowledge about the local environment and their socio- cultural awareness.
In some cases extra- curricular activities are conducted purely for relaxation since “all work and no play makes jack a dull boy”.
Primary School
Children aged 6 to 12 years are enrolled at the Primary school, grades one to six.
The School prepares the sixth graders for the British SAT (School Aptitude Test).
The school is equipped with standard British text books (Heinemann, Ginn, and Macmillan) for main subjects – English, mathematics and science.
Subjects offered for the various grade levels are: English, mathematics, science, French, Social and Environmental studies (taught with emphasis on the local environment and the West African Sub region), art, drama, music, computer, physical education, and comparative religion.

Fridays: 8:20am to 12 noon
Facilities
African Children School- The Gambia is housed in a magnificent and high class storey building with 13 classrooms, 2 offices, a well-equipped computer lab, music , adequate teaching/ learning and play materials.
There is electricity and water, a standby generator /borehole and 8 standard toilet facilities for both pupils and staff.
